Campy Umpy’s is located on Honesdale’s Main Street. It is quite cute decor-wise, going heavily with the camp theme throughout. There is even a tree inside!
They have coffee and bagels of course, but also have a variety of breakfast and lunch sandwich options. I haven’t had any of the sandwich options, but I was pleased with their coffee, and the bagels are quite good. My only issue with the bagels is that they are often out of the more popular ones, so they maybe should plan better in that aspect.
They do not have any gluten free bagels which surprised me, or I was misinformed at the time. I asked if they were just out or if they never have them, and they said they don’t ever have them. I see from the menu though there is gluten free option for the sandwiches, so they must have some sort of gluten free bread available.
The staff is very friendly and helpful, however the political leanings of the establishment can be a bit obvious at certain times. This is pretty prevalent throughout Honesdale though in general.
Camp Umpy’s can be quite crowded as it seems to be the most popular coffee spot in downtown. I can see why! It is fun, the products are good, and prices are reasonable.
Give Camp Umpy’s a try if you’re in town!
