Tsunami Asian Restaurant is an Asian restaurant in Honesdale, located just outside of the main downtown strip.
The Restaurant
The dining space itself is very large and clean. The decor is somewhat unusual for an Asian restaurant. It’s kind of like they went for how you’d decorate a diner. Lots of vintage tin signs on the wall – very American themed. Either way though, there is pretty much always room to sit, and it is clean and bright. I have never gone during dinner so that might be more crowded.
The Food
Tsunami Asian Restaurant offers Japanese, Thai, and Chinese options. The food is solidly good, I wouldn’t say great. I generally stick to the more Chinese food items – General Tso’s Chicken and Lo Mein for example. I enjoy them, but it is not my favorite in the area. The sushi has been hit or miss for me. Sometimes I found it very good, and there was a time or two that it seemed a bit dry? Stale? The full offerings on the menu are quite extensive, so there are a lot of options.
There is no alcohol served here, but it is BYOB if you are interested in that. They have a lot of tea and soda choices.
The Prices
Prices are very typical and reasonable. For example, my General Tso’s Chicken is $12.25 (as of writing). They do offer several lunch specials from I believe 11-4 daily.
Final Thoughts
Overall, I enjoy the place. I’ve been here several times, mostly based on convenience because of its location. I don’t think I would make the trip solely to come here. However, it is usually quite tasty, the service is pleasant (although sometimes very slow, and they aren’t busy), the prices are reasonable, and it is clean and spacious.
They have a website and Facebook page.
